A 3 litre bottle of Beaumont Family Wines New Baby 2018
This baby, born in 2015, is the progeny from the quintet of white varietals on the farm.
A blend of old vine Chenin planted in 1974 and 1978, Sauvignon Blanc in 1983, Chardonnay in 1997, Semillon in 1997 and Colombar in 1988.
My dream was to create a white blend to partner the Vitruvian. The first name that came to mind was “New Baby”. I wrote this on the barrels and so the first vintage was born in 2015. The 2018 vintage is classic in style, with a precision and complexity of flavour that draws you into the wine. It has the added dimension of some great phenolic tension.
Ageing potential 10 – 15 years.
This wine is packed in a wooden box.
