Notes
Staff Pick:
Ann Palmer, Senior Art Specialist: "The Gardens Synagogue is a familiar building to me, although this is painted from an unusual angle. I lived in the City Bowl for 25 years and regularly walked through The Company's Gardens on my way to town or to the SA National Gallery, as it was then. I have always admired this beautiful building, and feel the artist has captured the atmosphere of Cape Town in the wintery sunlight perfectly. This reminds me of a very happy time in my life."
Provenance
Acquired from the artist by the current owner's grandmother.
