Situated on the scenic slopes of the Helderberg mountain, Rust en Vrede is one of Stellenbosch’s oldest estates, dating back to 1694 and is today owned by Jean Engelbrecht. The fine Helderberg terroir produces concentrated and highly celebrated reds.
Critics Ratings
‘Even with new virus-free vines coming on stream, elegance remains hallmark of this cellar’s Cabernet. Such easier-ripening material not available in cool 1997, mirrored in lighter than usual texture (though fullish 13% alcohol), firm acid core, relatively developed herby, sweet mint notes.
