A Japanese Imari vase, Edo period, 1615-1868, 18th century
the baluster body decorated in underglaze-blue and enamelled with cranes before flowering branches, in shades of iron-red and gold against a black ground, the shoulders with three lappets centred by hares against an iron-red ground, the short neck painted with stylised dragons contesting a flaming pearl, damaged and re-glued, 30cm high
