rectangular, the silver mounts with wrigglework borders and thumbpiece, the mother-of-pearl panels engraved with floral sprays enclosed by lappet borders, the cover engraved with an oval vacant cartouche, the reverse later inscribed 'John Maude to his Little Friend Rosalind Howell 1888.', 3,5cm high, 7cm wide
