About this Item
Johannesburg, South Africa
A Houtlander oak 'Coronation Bench' designed 2017, South Africa,
the large, curved, red-painted bench with spindle-back, 80cm high, 230cm wide
Notes
The iconic Coronation Bench won the Best Furniture Design Award at 100% DesignSA 2017.
The circular shape is designed to represent a crown, placed upon ones head during a coronation. This circular form encourages a feeling of togetherness, and ease of conversation - wherein everyone sits as equals around the table.
