About this Item

Burgundy Grand Cru and Premier Cru Collection, 2010
3 (3 x 1) 750ml

The Leflaive family can trace their roots in Puligny back to 1717 when Claude Leflaive became one of the first vignerons on record in Puligny. Joseph Leflaive founded the domaine after purchasing vineyards that were up for sale after the phylloxera epidemic. He set out to expand his vineyards and replanted them with Chardonnay vines. After his death, his sons Vincent and Jo took over who are credited with building Leflaive’s reputation to what it is today.

This 3 bottle lot consists of the following wines from Domaine Leflaive

  • Leflaive Batard Montrachet 2010
  • Leflaive Puligny Montrachet 1 Cru Clavoillon 2010
  • Leflaive Puligny Montrachet 1 Cru Les Pucelles 2010

Critics Ratings

Leflaive Grand Cru Batard Montrachet

'Not to be out done by the Bienvenues, the Bâtard takes a step back and asks for a moment of silence. With the fl oor to itself, the wine immediately displays grandeur and control. There is tremendous depth, intensity and transparency here and more finesse than is customary. The wine continues to build in the mouth, showing abundant minerality. A serious and memorable Grand Cru.' - Robert Parker The Wine Advocate, 97/100

'Bâtard-Montrachet shines out as the epitome of balance between superb fruit and intense mineral and terroir characters. Its subtle touch of wood highlights the unctuous surface texture while just hinting at the steel sharpness of the structure beneath. Age this superb wine for at least 10 years.' - Wine Enthusiast, 99/100

Leflaive 1er Cru Clavoillon
'Beautiful. Starting out with discretion, this reveals more and more with agitation as complex aromas emerge from the glass. Notes of small citrus fruits with gentle spice lead via a fine thread onto a generous mid-palate kept in check by zippy acidity. The weight transfers to the finish with great elegance, showing poise and dexterity and no lack of finesse. Drink from 2015.'

'A taut, nervy, mineral-driven wine, this has intense citrus and grapefruit flavors, lemon grass spice and just the merest hint of wood. It’s the structure that gives this impressive wine such power, and a steely edge that will need at least 6–10 years.' - Wine Enthusiast, 95/100

Leflaive 1er Cru Les Pucelles, Puligny
A rich wine, full and fruity up front, then opening up into a much more mineral, textured character. It is a great explosion of citrus, pear and green apple, the wood aging showing with subtlety. It’s a wine for aging, complex and tight at the end.' - Wine Enthusiast, 95/100.
