Yalumba was founded in 1849 and six generations later is now Australia’s oldest family-owned winery. Yalumba is the aboriginal word for 'all the land around'. Yalumba’s wines are characterised by elegance and tradition. Often more medium bodied, they are fresh and vibrant, showing an honesty that is bred throughout the company into the wines they produce. Yalumba produces wines with minimal intervention and are committed to sustainable practices.

‘The 1998 Shiraz Octavius is undoubtedly controversial given its volatile acidity. Nevertheless, it is a loaded, intense, rich, classic example of full-throttle and full-bodied old vine Barossa Shiraz.
