A small French gilt-brass hilted sword, circa 1800
the grip in finely chequered ebony, the knuckle and shell guards decorated with beast masks and trophies, the triangular blade chiselled and etched at forte with the initials S.H. and foliate sprigs, gilding worn, lacking scabbard, the blade 80cm long; and another similar, circa 1800, the grip of plain ebony, the knuckle and shell guard decorated with cavalry, the triangular blade etched at forte with S & I, lacking leather scabbard, the blade 81cm long
