A fine and rare Danish sword, circa 1800
the pierced gilt-metal hilt decorated to either side with a pair of suns enclosed by a laurel wreaths, with pierced gilt knuckle guard with laurel swags, with blued upper third of the blade, with the Danish Royal cyphers, heightened to both sides with a coat of arms, crown, crossed lances and elephant motifs, etched VIVAT at forte to either side, with leather and gilt-brass topped scabbard, lacking lower tip of scabbard, the blade 76,5cm long
