A large Canton famille-rose vase, Qing dynasty, late 19th century
the baluster body enamelled with panels of battle and court scenes, enclosed by borders of flowers, butterflies and insects, the neck and shoulders similarly enamelled, applied with a pair of green and gilt chilong and a pair of dogs of fo, the petal-shaped rim enamelled to the lip with further blooms, 136cm high
