Established in 1768, Château Berliquet is one of the oldest estates in Saint-Émilion, with several First Growths for neighbours, and can trace its history back to 1794. In 1784, it became one of the first Saint-Émilion estates to sell wine under their own property name and, in 1985, they were promoted to a Grand Cru Classé. After much hard work from Patrick de Lesquen and his team from 1996, Berliquet became known for producing one of the most pedigreed wines in the appellation. In 2008, Nicolas Thienpont and Stéphane Derenoncourt were brought on as consultants to the pursue greater precision in the vineyards and to truly express the finesse of the château’s terroir.

‘More of a finesse-styled St.-Emilion than many other wines from this hotbed of activity, the 2000 is the finest Berliquet yet produced. It exhibits an impressive saturated ruby/purple color as well as jammy cherry and cassis liqueur aromas, medium to full body, sweet tannin, a multi-tiered mid-palate, and a long finish.
