About this Item

Saint-Emilion, 2000
6 (1 x 6) 750ml
Château Troplong Mondot’s history dates back to the 17th century but it was Raymond-Theodore Troplong who gave the estate its current name, when he purchased it in 1850. Over the years, the property fell into the hands of different owners, and in 2017 was purchased by the French Insurance group SOCR. Located on a hilltop in Saint-Émilion, the château is known for producing wines equal to some of the top estates.

Critics Ratings

‘Copious chocolate, graphite, blackberry, blueberry, cassis, and ink characteristics are present in this full-bodied, powerful, massive St.-Emilion. While the tannins are noticeable, they are better integrated than they were seven years ago, and the fruit, extract, and richness clearly outweigh the wine’s structure. This 2000 will benefit from another 4-5 years of cellaring, and has at least two decades of drinkability ahead of it.’  - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, 96/100 (Jan 2010)
