Lot 17
Pierneef Shiraz Viognier, 2005
12 (2 x 6) 750ml
Purchased by a French Huguenot back in 1709 and situated in the beautiful Franschhoek Valley, La Motte was named after a little village in Provence France and has been producing wine since 1752. Named after the famous SA landscape artist whose works feature on the labels, this blend was inspired by the great Côte Rôtie styles of Northern Rhône and uses the flamboyant flavour of Viognier to complement the spiciness of the Shiraz.
The 2005 was prolific on release; Gold at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Mundus Vini and the Michaelangelo International Wine Awards as well as Trophy winner at the 2007 International Wine Challenge.
