When asked why Hamilton Russell Vineyards releases verticals, proprietor Anthony Hamilton Russell said; "I believe that to maximise the pleasure of a lifetime of enthusiastic wine consumptions, one needs to add a few long-term relationships to an otherwise promiscuous indulgence of wines that can be followed after vintage and experienced at several different stages of development. A much more profound pleasure and depth of understanding develops from this. This deeper relationship is best formed with wines that tell a story of a special place, ahead of simply the grape variety or the people involved. We have many followers of our Pinot noir around the world, and this vertical will make it easier for them to enjoy their long term relationship with the wine.

Paul Clüver - Seven Flags Pinot Noir Vertical 2018 - 2023 (6 x 750ml)
Seven Flags Pinot Noir is the optimal expression of this great Burgundian variety grown on Paul Clüver Family Wines in the cool Elgin Wine Valley. Grapes are selected from the best Pinot Noir vineyard sites characterised by ancient soils of Bokkeveld shale. Only hand-selected berries are used for the spontaneous fermentation process, whereafter the wine is aged in French oak barrels. Singularly expressive of Paul Clüver's distinctive terroir, Seven Flags Pinot Noir is known for the refined elegance and depth of flavour this variety is known for.
