They call Walter Massa The Propheat in the Colli Tortonesi area of Piedmont. Years ago, Walter brought the rare and glorious Timorasso grape back from near-extinction. Many Italian wine experts consider Timorasso Italy's best white wine. Massa's is medium- to full-bodied, yet agile, showing sweet minerality, honey, and green tea notes that become more incisive with age (and it will age well for many, many years to come).
A wine that made the potential of Timorasso known to the world, "Derthona" is probably the most famous of the wines not only of Walter Massa but of all the whites produced in the vast area of the Tortona hills.

Already enjoyable but this doesn't seem like a short-term proposition. A hint of flowers but wonderful depth and breadth on the palate.
