A French ivory, gilt-metal and linen fan, late 19th/early 20th century
with pierced ivory guards and sticks carved in relief with Commedia del'Arte figures, the front leaf painted with a panel depicting couples dressed in eighteenth century attire within a double row of stitched brass discs, flanked by a pair of birds similarly enclosed, painted with pink roses, the obverse similarly painted, splits, staining, 27,5cm long, cased; a French ivory and silk fan, late 19th/early 20th century, with ivory guards and sticks, the silk leaf painted with pink roses and a garland of blue flowers, signed 'F*ALBERT.', splits, some staining, 28,2cm long; and another, one guard applied with the name 'Julia', distress, 30cm long, cased, the case with paper label 'SPECIALITÉ D'EVENTAILS MMES DESBARRES SCEURS, 1 Rue Halévy, 1, près le Nouvel Opéra., RÉPARATIONS'
