A Victorian 18ct gold and enamel vesta case, Frederick Edmonds, London, 1895
rectangular, enamelled in white and black with the simulated calling card of Dr L.S. Jameson, Salisbury, Mashonaland, the side with a hinged cover, 5,8cm wide Dr Leander Starr Jameson, Cecil Rhodes' representative in Rhodesia, was responsible for the Jameson Raid. Accompanied by a typed note that this box was given by Dr Jameson to Unfreville Percy Swinburne, son of Sir John Swinburne of Capheaton Hall, Northumberland
