About the SessionThe Loire Valley is a large region that follows the longest river of France. The Loire is an exceptional place to find lean, racy, white wines, including those of Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadet. Red varieties include Cabernet Franc, Gamay and Cot (Malbec), which produces herbaceous, rustic reds.

La Seigneurie is the name of a wine estate located in the Loire Valley of France, specifically in the Chinon appellation. La Seigneurie is a family-owned estate that has been producing wine for several generations. The estate is situated in a historic property dating back to the 17th century. The estate is known for producing high-quality Cabernet Franc wines.

Alban Foucher took over the 20ha family domaine in 2005. Until 2005, 90% of the family’s wine was sold in bulk to négociants. Foucher has now brought it back to 50%, with the eventual aim of selling it all in bottle. In 2014 he built a practical, modern winery to aid his endeavours.

Saumur-Champigny La Vieille Vignes à Perriot 2013
A complex and nuanced wine that showcases the unique characteristics of the Saumur-Champigny appellation and the Cabernet Franc grape. Deep ruby color, with aromas of black cherry, black currant, and hints of violet. The wine is medium-bodied with flavors of dark fruit, spice, and earthy undertones. The tannins are firm but well-integrated, leading to a long and elegant finish.
La Seigneurie Coteaux de Saumur 2014
Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties, which give it aromas of red fruits, blackcurrant and pepper. On the palate it is elegant and balanced, with fine tannins and refreshing acidity.
