Kanonkop is often described as the South African equivalent of a Grand Cru or First Growth. Owned by the fourth generation Krige family, Abri Beeslaar is their long-term winemaker who has won International Winemaker of the year an incredible 3 times. The Bordeaux blend was named after former owner, Paul Sauer, and was first made in 1981. This vintage was produced by wine-making legend Beyers Truter and has aged with incredible grace.

‘Deep, multi-layered complexity, consistent with style of this estate flagship Bordeaux-style. intense spiciness, sweet oak/mulberry fruit framed by solid 13% alc.’  Platter’s SA Wine Guide , 4 stars
