About this Item
Ex-Wine Cellar Young Gun, Bryan MacRobert, cut his teeth at The Sadie Family Wines in the Swartland and Terroir al Límit in Priorat in the late 2000s. In 2010 he bottled the first vintage of his own wines under the Bryan MacRobert Wines label. Bryan’s wines were pioneering and played an important role in the repositioning of the Swartland as a fine wine region. Through his travels, Bryan met a ‘Riojan’ winemaker, fell in love and moved to Rioja in 2013. He started Laventura – ‘The Adventure’ – and has been shaking up the heavily traditional Rioja wine scene ever since.
Bryan MacRobert Wines are no longer produced, making these wines highly sought after.

Critics Ratings
'A co-fermented blend of 33% Syrah, 33% Mourvedre and 33% Cinsault (Yes, the label says incorrectly otherwise!) the 2010 Red Blend has a generous, very pure, fleshy nose where the Cinsault really takes centre stage and opens beautifully in the glass with bright red fruits, pressed flowers and a touch of crushed stone. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins and great balance. Harmonious and silky smooth towards the stony finish, this is a very promising debut.' – Neal Martin for Wine Advocate, 91/100
