Notes
Still Life with Fruit (2007) shows the range of intaglio marks and technical ideas Kentridge has developed in his favoured etching medium. In preparing for the production of Shostakovich's The Nose, which he created for the Metropolitan Opera House in New York in 2010, Kentridge produced a series of works that draw imagery from his collection of postcards of famous artworks, including this classic still life motif.
