Notes
The work Chaise Longue (2010) depicts a classic nude in a palazzo in Rome where Kentridge once spent an artist's residence. The presence of a nose references the production of Shostakovich's The Nose, which Kentridge created for the Metropolitan Opera House in New York in 2010.
Literature
Sabine Schaschl (ed.), Jane Taylor and William Kentridge (2015) The Nose, exhibition catalogue from the exhibition at Museum Haus Konstruktiv, Zurich, 4 June to 6 September 2015, Cologne: Verlag der Buchhandlung Walther König, another impression from the edition illustrated on page 223.
