This rug is woven from 100% New Zealand wool, prized globally for its long, ultra-durable fibers and natural resilience to heavy foot traffic. The checkered pattern is a textural illusion achieved by Indian master weavers by alternating two entirely different pile heights: where one checkerboard square is dense, plush hand-knotted yarn, and the adjacent square is a tight, sunken loop pile.
