Notes
Grace Geraldine English, born in London in 1891, studied at the Slade School of Fine Art from 1912 to 1914, where she was awarded a painting prize. Following the First World War, she continued her studies at the Royal College of Art, where she specialised in etching.
English exhibited regularly in London, including at the Royal Academy, the New English Art Club, the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. She is best known for her depictions of female nudes, portraits, flowers and dancers.
