Château Léoville-Barton is a Second Growth of Saint-Julien, one of the three estates carved from the historic Léoville property, run by the Barton family and prized for classic, restrained and superbly ageworthy claret. 2008 was a classic, fresh Bordeaux vintage that has aged well. Neal Martin from Vinous gave it a rating of 93+, James Molesworth from Wine Spectator gave it a rating of 91, and Jancis Robinson gave it 16.5++ out of 20.

"The 2008 Léoville Barton has a lovely, heart-warming bouquet of ripe blackberry and cedar, touches of graphite, precise and supremely well focused. Classic Barton. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and lively with impressive density; structured with a firm backbone on the graphite-tinged and tensile finish that suggests that it deserves another 3-4 years in bottle.
