About this Item

John X Merriman 2002
2 (1 x 2) 1500ml
Rustenberg is one of South Africa's most historic estates, on the Simonsberg foothills of Stellenbosch and owned by the Barlow family. John X Merriman, named after the Cape statesman who once owned the farm, is its Bordeaux-style blend. 2002 was a warm Cape vintage; this is now mature. Stephen Tanzer reviewed it for Vinous.

Critics Ratings

"Sweet but more oak-dominated aromas of currant, licorice, tar and chocolate. Sweet, jammy, merlot-dominated flavors of plum and chocolate......" - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous (Mar 2005)
