About this Item

Galpin Peak Pinot Noir 2015
3 (1 x 3) 750ml
Bouchard Finlayson, founded in 1989 by Cape Pinot pioneer Peter Finlayson and Burgundian Paul Bouchard, is one of the founding estates of the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. Galpin Peak is its flagship, a Burgundian-styled Pinot Noir from the estate's steep home vineyard and long regarded as one of South Africa's finest. 2015 was an outstanding, dry Cape vintage widely rated among the country's greatest, giving concentrated, structured and age-worthy reds. Richard Hemming MW from JancisRobinson.com gave it 16.5 out of 20.

Provenance

The late David Brice was a respected wine connoisseur, collector and co-founder of Brice and Burnett – The Fine Wine Specialists (formerly Wine Cellar). His lifelong passion for wine from all corners of the world wine, and generosity, helped develop a culture of fine wine in South Africa and beyond. Always with value and authenticity in mind, the collection spans a wide range of styles from leading producers and diverse regions. The wines were professionally imported under refrigeration and carefully stored at Brice and Burnett (formerly Wine Cellar) thereafter. Many of the producers are not available in South Africa and provide an excellent buying opportunity.

Critics Ratings

"Plenty of sappy oak scent on the nose, but enough ripe red fruit to back it up. Bright palate with lovely spiciness on the length. Dry and fibrous on the finish." - Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5/20 (Nov 2018)
