About this Item

Sout van die Aarde Palomino 2019
6 (1 x 6) 750ml
Sout van die Aarde, meaning Salt of the Earth, is produced from very old Palomino bush vines grown on the West Coast, a variety historically used for distillation and fortified wine but here vinified as a dry white of striking saline intensity and precise mineral focus. The 2019 was whole-bunch pressed and aged in old neutral casks.

Critics Ratings

“This amazing dry Palomino comes from the same coastal, windswept vineyard as Eben Sadie's Skerpioen, located on sand and limestone soils. Bready, saline and herbal, with a wild, unruly note and a tangy, chiselled finish. 2021-26 AA Badenhorst The Golden Slopes Chenin Blanc 2019.” - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2020, 95/100
