Monis was one of the great names in South African fortified wine for much of the 20th century. In October 1997 the Monis Special Reserve Tawny Port 1983 was released in a screen-printed bottle produced in France. At over 40 years of age, this wine will have developed the classic deep amber and rancio complexity of a genuinely mature Cape Tawny.
