About the Session

A rich offering of vintage wines that have stood the test of time. Wine Specialist, Higgo Jacobs comments “These categories have strong historical ties with South Africa's wine industry, and they remain underrated in terms of bandwidth and prices, while consistently over-delivering on quality.”

About this Item

CWG Muscat de Frontignan 1997
3 (1 x 3) 500ml
The 1997 South African vintage produced an outstanding Muscat de Frontignan from Graham Beck's celebrated fortified wine programme, a wine of exotic, honeyed concentration and the naturally vibrant aromatics that make Muscat-based fortifieds among the most beguiling in the country. Graham Beck's 1997 CWG Muscat de Frontignan was produced for the Cape Winemakers Guild Auction, South Africa's most prestigious annual wine event, a showcase for the country's finest winemakers producing limited quantities of exceptional wines available exclusively through the guild. Graham Beck's Muscat de Frontignan is produced from the Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains variety in Robertson, vinified as a naturally sweet fortified wine of exceptional aromatic purity: orange blossom, rose petal, honeyed tropical fruit and fine balancing acidity, a style in which Robertson's warm, sun-drenched terroir excels with singular conviction.

Provenance

The late David Brice was a respected wine connoisseur, collector and co-founder of Brice and Burnett – The Fine Wine Specialists (formerly Wine Cellar). His lifelong passion for wine from all corners of the world wine, and generosity, helped develop a culture of fine wine in South Africa and beyond. Always with value and authenticity in mind, the collection spans a wide range of styles from leading producers and diverse regions. The wines were professionally imported under refrigeration and carefully stored at Brice and Burnett (formerly Wine Cellar) thereafter. Many of the producers are not available in South Africa and provide an excellent buying opportunity.

For more detailed information on the lots, please feel free to contact Roland Peens (roland@briceandburnett.co.za). Roland spent many years sharing and enjoying these wines with David Brice and is happy to provide further insight into the collection.
