JL Chave Seléction Côtes-du-Rhône Mon Cœur 2018
‘Deep ruby-red. Smoke-accented cherry, dark berries and licorice on the perfumed nose, which takes on succulent floral and herb nuances with air. Smooth, concentrated and gently sweet, offering mineral- and spice-accented black raspberry, cherry and violet pastille flavors and a spicy jolt of cracked pepper. Finishes supple, sweet and quite long, with harmonious tannins and lingering florality. 2021-2027’ – Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 91/100 (Mar 2020)
‘Juicy red berries, spring flowers, and hints of peppered game all emerge from the 2018 Côtes Du Rhône Mon Coeur, which is medium-bodied and has a pure, elegant texture, silky tannins, and a clean finish. This classy, balanced Côtes Du Rhône has loads to love, and it should keep nicely for 4-6 years as well.’ – Jeb Dunnuck, 90/100
Le Clos du Caillou Côtes-du-Rhône Réserve 2016
‘The 2016 Côtes du Rhône Réserve offers more minerality as well as slightly darker fruits in its blackberries, bouquet garni, spice, and pepper aromas and flavors. Deep, rich, and powerful on the palate, with a weightless style, it has ample oomph, building tannin, and a gorgeous finish. It's one sensational Côtes du Rhône.’ – Jeb Dunnuck, 94/100 (Aug 2018)
‘Possibly the best Côtes du Rhône I've ever tasted, the 2016 Cotes du Rhone La Reserve is 75% Grenache and 25% Mourvèdre, grown inside the Clos on sandy soils. It's a breathtaking effort, loaded with crushed stone, rose petal and cherry aromas. It's full-bodied but so precise, crystalline and pure that it comes across as nearly weightless, balanced by a crisp, zesty-briny finish that extends for miles. 2018-2030’ - Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, 94/100 (Aug 2018)
Le Clos du Caillou Le Bouquet des Garrigues Côtes-du-Rhône 2016
'A blend of 85% Grenache, 10% Syrah and the rest Mourvèdre and Cinsault, the 2016 Cotes du Rhone Le Bouquet des Garrigues comes from vineyards just outside Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It offers scents of garrigue and mint along with lush cherry fruit. Medium to full-bodied, it's peppery and fresh, with silky tannins and a long, licorice-tinged finish. 2018-2025’ - Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, 91/100 (Aug 2018)
Saint Cosme Côtes du Rhône Les Deux Albion 2018
‘This Syrah-dominant blend augmented by Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre and Clairette is sourced from three Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages communes of Plan de Dieu, Saint Maurice and Cairanne. Vinified in wooden vats and matured in concrete, it offers decadent cassis and black-plum flavors accented by tar, charred sage and licorice. Supple and piercing, the wine is ready now but will hold through 2026.’ - Anna Lee C. Iijima, Wine Enthusiast, 91/100 (May 2021)
‘Mainly Grenache, with smaller portions of Mourvèdre and Syrah, the 2018 Cotes du Rhone Les Deux Albions matured in wooden and concrete vats. Black cherries and blueberries mark the nose, picking up hints of garrigue and black olives along the way. Medium to full-bodied, plush and expansive, it turns almost velvety on the finish. It's another terrific bargain from Barruol.’ - Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, 90/100 (Nov 2020)
