About this Item
A pair of colonial Indian silver salt and pepper casters, Twentyman & Company, 1821-1854
Notes
The work of this firm has been thought of as being produced by the firm of Lawrence Twentyman & Company of the Cape of Good Hope. This is not the case. The Indian Registers show that Twentyman & Company started activities in Calcutta in 1821. It was one of the most important firms in Calcutta until 1840.
