Notes

The work of this firm has been thought of as being produced by the firm of Lawrence Twentyman & Company of the Cape of Good Hope. This is not the case. The Indian Registers show that Twentyman & Company started activities in Calcutta in 1821. It was one of the most important firms in Calcutta until 1840.

Wynard T. Wilkinson (1973), Indian Colonial Silver, European Silversmiths in India and their marks (1760-1860), London: Argent Press.
