the tapering oval body engraved with a band of leaves, the sides applied with c-scroll handles, detachable cover surmounted by a finial, the rim with wrigglework border, the cover and base similarly engraved, 470g

Notes

August Christoffle Schlosser was the son of Carl Christian Slosser, who arrived as a soldier form Zitau, Germany, and Engela Harms. He married Barbara Christina Thiele on 14 June 1795. His business was listed at 41 Breede Street in 1811, 37 Breede Street in 1812 and at 18 Dorp Street (Walendrop) from 1834-1840.
