Notes

Nolan Oswald Dennis is a para-disciplinary artist based in Johannesburg, South Africa. They studied architecture at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. Dennis’ practice investigates what they describe as “a black consciousness of space,” exploring the material and metaphysical conditions of decolonisation. Working with diagrams, drawings, models, and installations, they reveal hidden systems that shape politics, time, and social imagination. Their work has been exhibited widely, including solo shows at Gasworks, London, the Swiss Institute in New York, and Zeitz MOCAA in Cape Town, and group exhibitions at the Liverpool Biennial, Palais de Tokyo, and Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona. Dennis’ art is held in the collections of the A4 Arts Foundation, Cape Town, and the Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven.
