A wine for the odd one out, and a tribute to the rare birds, misfits, and ultimately those willing to be different without care. Footstomped and wild fermented in old oak.

Critics Ratings

'A definite grassy/nettley aroma that has a Sauvignon quality to it, which I think overwhelms the Colombard's typically floral character. I've never tasted Chenel before so I am not sure what this brings to the party but the wine opens to a deep citrus tone. There's a slight creamy/leesy quality too but very little obvious signs of oak apart from a touch of oatmeal and spice. Plenty of citrus zest. On the palate, an unusual herbal/sour freshness. Very dry but balanced with a nice pithy, almost chalky, texture. Lots of herbal freshness and good length. Unusual, super-fresh, and with this texture and acidity should be good at the table. Unusual, but I suppose that is the intention. A Sauvignon-like aftertaste and a long finish.' - Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5/20 (Oct 2021)
