Usually just a barrel or two of our best and most interesting wine is made especially for the Cape Winemakers Guild auction and not available elsewhere. The best barrels of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot were chosen from wines produced from a magnificent vineyard site high up on the eastern slopes of the Helderberg mountain.
Winemaker Tasting notes:"Tobacco, cigar box nose. Black berry fruit. Iodine, violets, graphite. Meaty, beefy. Very defined with great finish. Cherries. Ripe fruit on palate integrates with nice dry wood tannins to give a long finish - good balance. Beautiful tannin management. Not big, but classy."

‘This opens a bit green around the edges, supported by a core of black plum and blueberry fruit that takes over the palate alongside notes of fudgy brownie and soft toast.
