A Chinese blue and white 'lotus' bowl, Qing Dynasty, 18th century
the centre painted with a lotus bloom within a double blue-line border, the rim with double blue-line border, the reverse decorated with six lotus blooms connected by scrolling tendrils above a lappet band, raised on a low foot, underglaze-blue four-character mark, repair to the foot, 21,5cm diameter; and a Chinese blue and white bowl, Qing Dynasty, Kangxi period, 1662-1772, the centre painted with a stylised flowerhead enclosed by scrollwork and a double blue-line, the border painted with a diaper pattern, the reverse with eight bats, each above a shou symbol with a lotus bloom below alternating with panels of scrollwork, above a band of lappets enclosing flowerheads and foliage, hairline crack, chip, underglaze-blue Chenghua mark enclosed by a double blue-line, hairline crack, 19,3cm diameter
