the compressed melon-shaped body below a band of moulded palmettes and a band of flowerheads, with flared neck, the loose cover surmounted by a mythical winged creature, moulded with serpent-shaped spout, the wooden leaf-capped handle headed by a Romanesque mask, raised on a moulded pedestal base with conforming borders, minor dents, marked with the initials LD, 945g all in
