An Anglo-Indian ivory-overlaid sandalwood Vizagapatam needlework box, 18th/19th century
the rectangular hinged cover inset with a later vacant panel surrounded by delicate foliate sprays enclosed by beaded borders, fitted with twelve compartments two of which with covers, one surmounted by a needle cushion, including various sewing instruments and two cylindrical sewing boxes with covers, the inner cover fabric-lined, with conforming sides, distress, 8,8cm high, 28,7cm wide, 23,2cm deep
