Notes
The present lot is a visual act of mourning and protest, created in response to the 1990 murder of Nicholas Cruise – an apolitical young man killed by a bomb hidden in a computer. Through exploring the ironies and forgotten narratives surrounding his death, the works speak not only to his erasure but to the broader violence, silencing, and moral contradictions of South Africa’s political landscape.
