Wedged between the Stellenbosch and Helderberg mountains, situated on the beautiful Mont Fleur farm, is the boutique De Trafford winery. The Trafford family purchased the land in 1976 and a small vineyard was in place by 1983.

Critics Ratings

‘From 4 low-yield blocks 9-24 years old, liquorice-nuanced 2012 a fine ambassador for the variety: classic dark fruit, iodine & graphite spicing, stately structure. 35% new oak (23 months) well integrated, will assist cellaring decade or more.’ - Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2016, 4.5*

‘Bright ruby-red. Classic Cabernet scents of cassis, licorice and graphite minerality. Plush, fine-grained, rich and sweet, with concentrated, slightly high-toned black fruit, licorice and mineral flavors carrying beautifully on the ripely tannic, seamless, very long back end.
