Giorgio Dalla Cia, the legendary winemaker who uniquely combines age-old European tradition with his passion for innovation, has started a ew project with renowned experts from France, Germany, and Switzerland to establish a "First Growth of the Cape'. This 2009 vintage is a private preview of a wine which aspires to become a ambassador of South Africa to the world. They have rigorously selected four parcels of Stellenbosch's finest vineyards, cropped them to extremely low yields and focused on utterly smooth extraction in the cellar. This unique blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot has enjoyed 18 months of maturation in barrels with 112% new French oak.
