About this Item
After nearly 2 decades at La Motte, Jacques Borman established family-owned Boschkloof in 1996 and built a reputation with these quality, structured, long-lived Stellenbosch reds, most notably Syrah, earning him a membership with the Cape Winemakers Guild. Around the turn of the last decade the arrival of his son Reenen onto the scene (also behind the successful Patatsfontein, Kottabos and Sons of Sugarland) saw the bar being raised even further, with many commentators tipping him as one to watch in terms of next generation Cape winemakers.
Producer Notes: 'Epilogue is our flagship red wine made from a single block of vineyard. The SH99 clone is situated on top of decomposed granite soils in the Stellenbosh Hills. The CWG Epilogue Syrah is Modern Rhône in style this wine has a lot of perfumed aromas with hints of black and white pepper. Great concentration on the mid-palate with silky tannins. A truly well balanced wine.'

Critics Ratings
‘Aromas of forest floor, crushed leaves, purple flowers and white pepper open the bouquet of this earthy Syrah, while supporting fruit tones of small red berries, cherry and plum provide a solid backdrop. The palate is smooth and approachable, with a texture like crushed silk and lightly gripping tannins that linger on the spice-flecked finish. It's approachable now, and should contiue to hold well through 2021.’ – Lauren Buzzeo, Wine Enthusiast, 91/100 (Oct 2015)
‘Bright medium red. Smoky, flinty aromas of rose petal, white pepper and spices. Juicy, spicy and light on its feet; a very perfumed style of Syrah, showing lovely subtle intensity and inner-mouth lift to its red berry and spice flavours. Silky, suave and perfumed on the long aftertaste. I would never have guessed that this wine is carrying 14% alcohol.’ – Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 91/100 (Sep 2015)
