In the 2000 harvest, in addition to Quinta da Bacalhôa, it was decided to launch a new red wine from this property - Palácio da Bacalhôa. This wine is the result of a batch of a selection of Quinta da Bacalhôa wines that, after ageing in wood, are evaluated and considered to be of superior quality.
