Wessel Snyman's mesmerising music box weaves mythology and confession into a delicate mechanical dance. Seemingly preserved, delicate butterfly wings, poised on slender wooden sticks, move lethargically with the assistance of wire mechanisms and are accompanied by a nostalgic melody reminiscent of Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. The butterflies drift around magnified confessionals inscribed with heartfelt regrets: "I wish I didn't lie in your bed," "I wish I knew you," "I wish I didn't cry so much about you", ''I wish I could say the same about you", "I wish I realised earlier", "I wish it was softer in your arms tonight" and "I wish for you".
