Notes

Operating under the pseudonym Samurai Farai, Farai Engelbrecht has rapidly established himself as a prominent figure in contemporary art. His portfolio is remarkably varied, ranging from vibrant, bold pieces to more subdued, introspective works. Samurai Farai seamlessly blends elements of street art with cubism, offering a rich exploration of human experience through this intersection of styles.1 Engelbrecht's journey began at Michaelis School of Fine Art in Cape Town, where he specialised in Printmaking. This academic foundation paved the way for his successful career. Beyond his work as an artist, Farai is also a curator, gallery founder, and art dealer, contributing to the art community in multiple capacities.2
