Notes
'Clay has a unique, tactile quality that fascinates me-the way it moves and shifts. I love seeing the 'maker's marks' on ceramics, the traces left by hands as they craft each piece. It creates a direct and personal connection with the work, especially with hand building. You can't help but put yourself into it, in some way.
This collection emerges from a confrontation with vulnerability, as my inner world seeks expression through clay. These biomorphic vessels contain opposing states of mind, representing a tug-of-war between acceptance and rejection, kinship and solitude, disgust and desire-each as fundamental as the other.' - Hannah Massey, 2024
