Large Cape yellowwood meelkist, 19th century
63cm high, 153cm wide, 62cm deep
Notes
The meelkist or flour chest was generally bigger than ordinary storage chests as it was used to store large quantities of flour for the household. The interior was divided into different compartments for course and fine flour.
