About this Item
Situated in the foothills of Stellenbosch's iconic Simonsberg Mountain and with a history dating back to 1771, Warwick Wine Estate was purchased in 1902 by a Commanding Officer of the Warwickshire regiment. He renamed the farm Warwick as a tribute to his regime. Warwick's terroir offers the perfect confluence of elements to grow grapes of consistently outstanding quality. In the cellar, careful vinification yields fine wines with true varietal character and an honest expression of their origin. Warwick deeply cherishes what nature has provided and is committed to protecting and nurturing the land for generations to come. They dedicate time and passion to ensuring quality in every facet of their craft.

Critics Ratings
‘In tune with the times, naturally vinified 2014 is our prestigious White Wine of the Year 2016. Thrilling lime-seamed vibrancy, stony minerality & exceptional length of flavour make a stunning package for now & good few years. Even more seductive than 2013 (4.5 stars, 94 pts). Own grapes wild yeast fermented, 10 months aged in perfectly judged 33% new French oak.’ - Platter's SA Wine Guide 2016, 5*
‘Pale, bright yellow. Aromas of yellow plum, ginger and nutmeg oil are lifted by pungent saline minerality. Very intense flavors of citrus fruits, apple and musky brown spices are complicated by a salty nuance. Boasts a lovely combination of thickness and energy and finishes pure and very long.’ – Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 91/100 (Apr 2015)
‘The 2014 White Lady Wooded Chardonnay comes from two of the oldest blocks of Chardonnay; the grapes are wild yeast fermented with an oxidative crushing, the rolls are rotated weekly over ten months to inhibit malolacti, and the oak is one-third new. The nose is nicely defined, quite backward at first with touches of almond and hazelnut developing with aeration, with the new oak imparting a touch of creaminess. The palate is nicely balanced, soft and quite caressing in the mouth, a Chardonnay whose raison d'être is to be imbibed and not contemplated too much. That's not such a bad thing...have a second bottle handy, just in case.’ – Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 90/100 (Nov 2015)
